This society is becoming obsessed with embracing individuality (which i have no problem with), but as with every idea becoming a trend, is this just another trend. I keep hearing and stumbling on folks exclaiming how they are "happily" doing them. As we become more and more engrossed in the aspect of "ME", where are we finding those things/activities/people that allow us to reach that point of satisfaction, where we are happy with the "ME" factor?
For me, it has gradually become more apparent that I'm now obsessing over finding a balance between the things that matter in the life of Martha. Being able to give sufficient and seemingly equal time for the things that i love/ love to do. My sanity, for the most part, comes from family, reading, friends, love, adventure and writing. Every night as I wind down, i think of whether i have given each of these factors enough of my time to develop myself wholly. As I become more comfortable with the latter, it has almost become one of those activities that I tirelessly need to engage in to find my balance (voila!!!)
Writing keeps me leveled. I stay grounded and reminded that I have a purpose. (not writing, i suppose, but more so, being able to jot down my thoughts and being comfortable with making mistakes and learning from them)
What keeps you leveled? Is there an activity that you engage that leaves you feeling balanced altogether?
