"Home is a place you grow up wanting to leave, and grow old wanting to get back to” - John Ed Pierce

This place that I call home; this place that was ideally my first vacation spot...safe haven and still is...a place that keeps me in check when all things are bleak and I seem to want to turn to other potentially "mentally-destructive" spots.

Kabale.

It feels great to be back home after more than 5 years...For me, this is a long time, especially seeing that all through my childhood, it was a place that was visited every holiday, or at least the big ones, like at Christmas.
Andrew (R.I.P) was buried here in the compound of the house that my father built; and so when I'm here I tend to engage that mindset of being hardworking, never giving up and continuing to fulfill my purpose until my time on earth is up. I believe and many would agree with me that Andrew's time was up and he dutifully served his purpose and his legacy as young as he was continues to live on.

On a more happier note, being back here with the whole family is a blessing that I wouldn't like to take for granted. There's a lot that has been achieved even after the few hours that we have spent here. Family meeting was a huge success and there's definitely more to come.

Last but not least; it has also become apparent to me that I am an educated, well-articulated member of my immediate and extended family thus there are relatives that I'm going to have to take care of as a number of them seem to have reached that age where they are unable to cultivate as often as they would like to. (Farming including cultivation is an important income-generating venture and therefore that's what the livelihood of the Bakiga depends on)

Well this is all for now;

A demain!!
