Consistency and Commitment....where art thou?

My weight has been one of those struggles that have crippled my self-esteem and confidence for a long time...yes..I am one of those...

The one thing that makes me joyful even as I write this post, is that I have been taking small gradual steps to healthier living, one of the latest being eliminating red meat. Yes, I am doing this mostly for the healthy aspect of things, but also digging deeper with my spirituality and finding my balance. I have gone piscetarian once before, and it was easy at the beginning but slowly became a hard task especially being around people that loved their meat.
So, take two, I'm going down that same road that I have been before, but this time, I have cut out the fish and some dairy products just to see how far I can go with this change that could happily become a lifestyle change.

This time, I also took it upon myself to share with my immediate family and friends that I will be going down this road, and they are happily supporting me to the best of their ability. But, the first test came upon me last evening, having to see my brother munch on some roasted goat meat (muchomo in the home lingua); thinking that this would be the worst, the aroma engulfed my nostrils and had to take some two or three piece, giving into temptation easier than it took me to say "no" to meat. Well now, I'm dealing with the consequence of having an upset tummy (which ironically makes me happy, seeing that my body had started getting used to no meat).
So, in a bid to make this easier for me in the near future, I have taken to the internet to find alternatives that I can indulge in once I'm around a meat-eater...it ain't easy...but I need to see this so-called determination I have within my bones, which ought to help with these trying times....Petty you may think...naaaaaaahhhh....Big deal for me!

In the end, it's all about making the right choices for me, sticking to my decisions and being happy with ME!

Alors! A demain!

PS - The one website I'm diggin' right now is the The Post Punk Kitchen

(Note to self: a recipe a week from theppk would do me some good)
